Irene Mae (Fortney) Wolfe

     Mrs. Wolfe, 80, of Blandburg, died Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at UPMC Altoona   She was born December 30, 1943, in Blandburg, a daughter of the late Jack C. and Ruby K. (Bishop) Fortney.  On March 21, 1964, in Winchester, VA., she married Daniel C. Wolfe who died October 25, 1993.  Surviving are four children Daniel C. Wolfe of Altoona, Darren L. Wolfe of Cocoa Beach, FL., Belinda S. (Toby) Snyder of Irvona and Dale L. (Tiffany Clarkson) Wolfe of Blandburg, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a sister Ruth M. Evanskey of Fallentimber.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers Donald Fortney and Clair Fortney.

     Irene was a 1961 graduate of Reade Twp. High School and had been employed by several local clothing factories as a seamstress as well as sewing and doing alterations for family and friends.

     A viewing for friends and family will be held Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 4-8 pm and again Monday from 11 am until the hour of services at noon all at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, with Pastor Bob Witherow officiating.  Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Comfort Keepers Alzheimer’s and Dementia Home Care, 224 Cherry St.  Hollidaysburg, PA.  16648
